Configuration

1. I can't get into www.ferromex.com.mx. What could be the reason?
First, check your internet connection. If you're still having trouble, please send an email to our e-business team to confirm the Ferromex website is active ebusiness@ferromex.mx.

2. When I click on the DOCUMENTATION, RELEASE EMPTY CAR or CONSULT menu, nothing happens. Is there a problem with the e-Ferromex application?
In this case your username and password are not authorized to enter the selected menu.
To request authorization, please send an email to our e-business team for validation. ebusiness@ferromex.mx.

How do I obtain a username and password?

3. How can I access the e-Ferromex services?
Through our website www.ferromex.com.mx, in the upper right hand corner (Access).

4. What do I need to document with e-Ferromex?
A username and password to access e-Ferromex, the Documentation service enabled and traffic patterns with the current tariff.

5. What do I need to release with e-Ferromex?
A username and password to access e-Ferromex and the release service enabled.

6. Where can I get my username and password?
Via e-Ferromex, in the Request Registry section.

7. How can I change my password?
Once you have accessed the e-Ferromex section, having entered your username and password, click on the option CHANGE PASSWORD on the E-BUSINESS menu. You only need to enter your current password then the new password.

8. I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?
On the e-Ferromex page, click I FORGOT MY PASSWORD, enter your username and the password will be sent to the email address registered for that username. If you can't remember your username, send an email with your name and company to ebusiness@ferromex.mx

9. Can various stations or companies be assigned to the same e-Ferromex user?
Users of the e-Ferromex service are permitted an unlimited number of stations or companies assigned. Send your requirements to ebusiness@ferromex.mx for an assessment.

10. After selecting the station or company, the screen goes blank. What should I do?
It could be that your computer has not been configured to use the documentation service. Use the support manual to configure your computer.

11. When I click the DOCUMENT button, no Folio number is generated for the operation. What should I do?
First, check to ensure NO lines have been left empty, that there are no blank spaces or special characters in the UNIT field, then check that the rest of the information has been entered properly respecting the requirements of each field. If the problem continues, please contact the e-business team at ebusiness@ferromex.mx

12. When I click on the DOCUMENT button, the message "Repeated units, please check" comes up. What does this message mean?
This message appears after the UNIT column is validated, there could be 2 or more containers with the same initial and number. This must be corrected in order to continue.

13. When I click on the DOCUMENT button, the message "Check weight information, out of range" comes up. What does this message mean?
A weight greater than 250 Tons may have been entered in the WEIGHT column. This must be corrected in order to continue.

14. When I click on the DOCUMENT button, the message "Please select Origin ZVP " comes up.
What does this message mean?

The Origin ZVP must be selected from the drop-down list of Origin ZVP enabled.

15. The message "Enter a numeric value" appears in the PIECES field.
What does this message mean?

The PIECES column only allows whole numeric values, no other characters including special characters. This must be corrected in order to continue.

16. How can I consult the online folio number that was used to document a certain unit?
Under the e-Ferromex menu, click on the section CONSULT AND PRINT WAYBILLS, which offers a record of the units sent for documentation with their respective status and gives you the option to print the units or online folio numbers in a PDF format.

17. Can inbound information be entered for traffic with destination in CANADA?
In the case of a traffic pattern with destination in CANADA, an INBOUND button will appear in step 4 at the end of the standard columns, which will allow you to enter the corresponding code for the interchange point between the USA and CANADA plus the area code for the destination in CANADA.

18. How can I enter VIN information?
Use the VIN button for traffic patterns with STCC vehicle only. We recommend using the standard Excel format for importing data.

19. How can I erase a line from the data table?
Select the line you want to erase, then click ERASE UNIT. This will remove the line selected and move any lines below up.

20. How can I erase information entered into the data table?
Use the ERASE TABLE button to clear the data table.

21. When I click the DOCUMENT button, the message "Please indicate the Contents of the container" comes up. What does this message mean?
On an FXE route, the contents of the container must be entered in the field corresponding.
On an Interline route, the contents of the container must be selected from the list of standard descriptions.

22. When I click on the DOCUMENT button, the message "Check weight information, out of range" comes up. What does this message mean?
A weight greater than 65Ton may have been entered in the WEIGHT column. This must be corrected in order to continue.
